Ever since I got my ipad 3 I have been using £10 3GB preloaded sim cards from Amazon on Three. My last one is about to expire and for some reason the cards have gone up to £20.

They usually last me the 90 days they are loaded for. So 1GB a month on average is enough for me.

Anyone have any other sources for still getting these for around a tenner?

What about Ovivo? You pay £20 up front and that's you for 1Gb a month. They do throw some ads at you when you're net browsing but for a one off payment of £20 I can live with that. They use the Vodafone network so pretty good coverage. I use an Ovivo SIM for a wifi dongle.

A certain well known high street chain are selling these sims (Three, 1month/1gb) for £2.99 at the moment.. I've ordered a few so it will last me a while.. I was previously using the 3gb version myself but they seem to have increased in price recently.

As with the iPhone 5, it'll only work on EE's 4G service using technically non-standard UK 4G frequencies. Only the iPad Air, iPhone 5S and 5C will work with all UK 4G services.

This isn't quite right.

The iPad 3 isn't compatible with any UK frequencies.
The iPad 4 & iPad Mini (1st Gen) is EE (& potentially Three) only
The current iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina are compatible with all.

Thanks for that, I'm going to order 10 to keep me going for the next 12-18 months as and when I need them :)
