Hey,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with pre-made Fried Chicken coating?

I have made some fresh chicken strips/breasts/thighs before but the amount of different ingredients required when I only do them occasionally is a bit much.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the pre-made stuff that is good to go, I know a dip in buttermilk or similar is still required but thinking if there is any pre-made stuff that might make the the process easier and possibly tastier?

Any ideas?

Flour, celery salt, paprika, MSG, garlic salt, black pepper, white pepper, mixed herbs, mustard powder, egg for binding, deep fried, is the basic KFC "Secret" recipe - very eary to replicate

Celery salt is hard to find but Tesco sells it occaisionally. MSG can be bought from Asian supermarkets

That said I prefer to make wings/ thighs/ legs roasted then smother some barbeque sauce on and put them back in the oven for ten minutes to caramelise

I have bought this before and it was very good. They supply a lot of independent takeaway places with their seasoning.

They have one especially for air fryers also but haven’t tried that.

We use it a fair bit. We've used it on tofu, cauliflower, various non-meat substances and it's always amazing how good (accurate) the coating is. The insides may then be disappointing or not, it varies!

Nothing wrong with the ready made stuff.
