Pre Odering on Steam

Hey,

If I were to pre order a game on Steam that is not out untill mid 2011, do they take my money now or when the game is released?

They take it now.

If it's The Witcher 2 you're after pre-ordering then gog.com currently have the best pre-order offer and they won't charge you until it's released.

As said, they take it now. Most pre-order offers will run right up until release though, so you'll not miss out by waiting.

Ok thanks guys. I had a feeling they would... Unlike when you pre-order from Game or Play. Guess digital distribution has to have some downsides lol

If you pre-order with Steam and want to cancel, they'll usually refund you the money as long as it's before the release date.

And it's DRM free. And you get some store credit to purchase other games at gog.com. And there is a free game that comes with it already. And you get all the extras you'd normally get with a retail copy but in a digital form.
