Hi there

Yes the thread title is not a mistake, were nearly £200 cheaper than our competitors on this truly fantastic piece of kit. Whats the catch? Well no catch as such, this batch just come with 1yr warranty instead of the usual 3yr, but the saving is substancial.

We don't expect stocks to last long and DELL are not giving us any ETA for more at this price, I am offering them at this price until next Friday at which point the price shall increase by approximately £50 which shall still be over £100 cheaper than competitors. :)

ORDER NOW

Are they refurbs then?

They are a cancelled order, un-opened, un-used, basically brand new, so not sold by DELL as they have already been sold to a customer, but the order cancelled, no doubt due to ordering too many.

As such they are new, but sold with no official manufacturer warranty, as such we provide the 1yr warranty. :)

It's tempting but I can get it for just over £600 with a 3 year Dell warranty, which is probably worth the £100 premium.

We sell it for £657 with 3yr warranty.

We also sell it for £499 with a 1yr warranty.

For some people that is a substancial saving. :)

You can always get a 3 year warranty or even 5 year warranty for any type of electrical component via Amazon.

Which even covers you for Accidental damage as well as mechanical failure, quite good if you have a motherboard and snap the pins off the motherboard lol.

A few examples:

Click >> SquareTrade 3-Year Warranty Plus Accident Protection (£600-700 Items) £68.99

Click >> SquareTrade 3-Year Warranty Plus Accident Protection (£450-500 Items) £48.99

So you could buy one of the Dell U2711 from OcUK and purchase additional cover thats better than Dell's because it covers you for accidental damage as well as 3 years. :)

It would probally be cheaper to claim through your home insurance (£50 Excess?) if your covered for accidental damage but yeah the option is still there.

Excellent find there!

So even with that added from Amazon, were still what, nearly £100 cheaper than anywhere else, still epic bargain me thinks. :)

Stock is arriving Monday which means you've got until then to grab one of these at this incredible price point, don't miss out guys. :)

How about you answer the ppl in the thread Gibbo asking about dead pixels policy?

We don't offer a dead pixel guarantee of any kind and never have done on any monitors we have warrantied. However you have 7 day DSR regulations so if there are dead pixels you can just send it back under DSR.

Hi there

The DELL's are here! :D

Just inspected one, sealed boxes and completely unmarked, absolutely incredible value for money. :)

Got mine this morning. Sadly there is a tiny nip/nick/dent in the screen :(

Using it now in the office and I see why the anti-glare isn't well received. I'm a little disappointed but maybe I could get used to it, the little nick is distracting though.

Get it returned to us as there should be no marks on the screen.

Received mine...

The Good News:

- Physically the Monitor looks very nice.
- No dead pixels.
- Anti-Glare I find a non-issue, no different to the Ultrasharps I used at work in the past.

The Bad News:

- I also have a European Power adapter, not a UK one.
- The monitor calibration report was missing.
- It's supposed to come with a Dual Link DVI cable. I got a single link cable that had been wound up by using two cable ties which had been tied together in a bit of a botch job. All the other cables came in sealed plastic bags. So clearly the whole box has been opened.

The biggest issue for me though is that when I switch to 2560x1440, or infact any resolution above 1920x1080 it causes everything to go very pixaleted and unusable. The menu screen of the monitor says that when I'm running at 2560x1440 that it's actually 1280x1440.

I'm running a Mac Pro with a GeForce 8800GT which can support two displays at 2560x1600 so I've been pulling my hair out as to why it's not working. It's then that I realised it's hopefully just because it's not been supplied with the Dual-Link DVI Cable, and these resolutions aren't supported using a single link cable.

I'm going to have to see if I can find somewhere to buy a Dual-Link cable now to see if that is the case, otherwise I'm going to have to send it back.

*Annoyed*

Its because you need a dual link DVI cable, I had this issue when I purchased my 30" DELL a few years ago, on a single link cable I was stuck at a VESA resolution and it looked awful.

Hi there

We shall test one today just to make sure there is not something a miss here.

Those who have not got the right cables we shall send you a dual link DVI cable and power lead out FOC.

Shall also have a word with DELL as to why someone has what looks like *****'d all the Dual-Link DVI cables out the box.

Hi there

Just personally opened up another one of these.

First of all all accessories were present, though the DVI bag was ripped and the power cable was European.

Upon testing the monitor works flawlessy at 2560x1440 with the supplied DVI cable.

Those who are having issues we think its quite likely some of them have different accessories or have had the accessories *****'d and someone at DELL with those one have put in the wrong type of DVI cable.

If your missing your dual link DVI cable we will ship you a CB-066-OK Dual Link DVI FOC and same goes for power cables too.

Still thats two we've tested now with no faults. We had a shop sale yesterday with one which however was clearly faulty, the screen flicked like crazy, we swapped that one out on the spot. :)

I'm glad others have brought up the dual-link DVI cable issue as I tested my monitor on a system that already had a DL cable. I've now checked the one that came with the monitor, it has pins missing and only runs at 1280x1440 :(

So for me that's a missing USB cable plus wrong power and dvi leads. Do we need to request the replacements via the customer support section here or will it get picked up from this tread?

Yes and we shall ship you a correct dual link cable and power cable for the monitor. :)

What happened to "sealed boxes" sounds like someone has been through them, nicking cables. I assume this must have been at the factory?
Should be getting mine this afternoon. Hope all it's bits are there. Oh and euro leads, that's poor order control by Dell.

The outer box is sealed and the accessory boxes have been sealed in the ones we've opened.

Seems there is a handful where either all the accessories are not included or have been opened.

Normally we'd go mental at our supplier, but with the price saving we can't really kick off with our supplier as they will just offer elsewhere in the future.

This is the nick in the screen on mine (standard excel spreadsheet for scale), it's like a small car stone chip. Would you honour a replacement Gibbo? I'm otherwise quite happy. The cables sent with mine were all correct and unopened for what it's worth :)

Yes of course we will, thats physical damange, just speak to our returns and if need be direct them to this post and my reply. :)

Received a power cable and dual-link DVI cable this morning.
All working great and looks absolutely fantastic at 2K resolution!

Thanks Gibbo and OCUK for getting the cables out so quick.

Glad to hear it, we've sold 60 of these now and so far still only one has been faulty and we've had about 4-5 people needing the DVI cables. :)

They are a bargain, as nothing competes with this apart from Hazro at this price and Hazro are all sold out at the moment.

Something I've noticed is that the monitor goes straight into sleep mode every time the pc changes resolution? I'm hoping this is something to do with the DVI cable as it will not handle certain resolutions???

Yep that's the cable! :)
