Right guys just to let you know that i have now pre-ordered a BC2 server which will mean we will 100% have a server on the day of release, i've booked a few days off to get early and get the server up. Every1 is welcome to come and give me a hand to set it up.

I've bought it thro our clans bank account, i'm willing to give admin to people who come on vent, arnt a complete **** and who's willing to chip in. Also i know Frenchy is looking to get a server aswel so i'l have to have a chat with him later and see what is best for the community setting up different type servers.

The title of the server will likely be:

HARDCORE =TFU= Server #1 @ OcUK

On another note i havn't been on much as of late due to me painting my entire house. Also i'm ready to play a different map and also its becoming a nightmare to connect to the same server every1 is playing.... least with ours we can kick for members.

Least we have a public vent, a few regulars on vent will get admin so that way if i am not about they can kick for members.

Looking forward to playing with you guys! Add me in BC2, steam or xfire @ thegoon84 ;) will be on 2nite and getting some squad playing going thro steam groups.

Oizu the majority of people who come on vent prefer hardcore, it does my head in when i have to put an entire clip in sum1 for sum1 else to take my kill... hate it! as i said its still not definate but as i have previously said I will try my best to get another server up with normal mode on.

Exactly, i honestly agree with you! its 6 to one and half a dosen to the other senario. What one lacks the other gains, for me not being able to kill sum1 quick drives me up the wall!

Personally i use a CD black marker pen and have put a little dot on the screen!

I really hope they do sort out the amount of damage needed for kill on normal mode! we shall see tho

domthecondom Not at all mate, you carry on... would be great to have you... weekend 4 squad vs 4 squad clan war *** haha!. Only thing i'd say tho pal please take offence, but because its paid for by our clan members as you can imagine it would be a bit annoying if another clan used it for their own gains :D. So long as you dont recruit like hell on there i got no problem at all. If Frenchy does get a server put up and he's ok with it then you can knock your self out with recruiting there ;).... I am hoping to build up a bit of BF community so we can get more servers etc for public use i.e OCUKers user and have a match server for sum clan fun!

FrenchTart No probs man, i dont use MSN that much but i'l turn it on later, if not i'l be on vent if you wana chat.

Oizu : Yeah that sounds like a plan, i'l get the server up and all the admin mod's installed and go from there.

@you and everyone else, I spoke to LOAM yesterday and he pointed out the killercreations site, where you can order 6 32slot BFBC2 ranked dedis for £24/month each. If it's not too late to change your order it could be worth us sorting out something like this between us. LOAM's clan wants 2 dedis and I'd like 1...so 3 more people and we could have a very cheap setup between us.

Yeah sounds a very good price, only problem there tho is who would have ultimate control over the box? We used to own a box with GTXgaming, but they couldn’t guarantee us a ranked BC2 server so we left. We had the option to rent other servers out to other clans and could have actually made money from it, but for obvious reasons we had to leave.

I wouldn't be to keen on the idea that the server is technically out of my hands, because if the person in charge of the box decided to drop it or cant pay for it, we intern lose our server. That said perhaps if we pool our money 2gether we could get a smaller box our self’s! Defiantly work a look in!

Out of in interested who is willing to chipping in and how much are you willing to give a month? I have to be careful because i dont want people to think that i'm getting OCUK to fund a clan server or anything….. its totally the opposite thanks to my clan we have funds to set up a server without asking for anything in return other than you play on it ;) …. however if we put our money together perhaps we could get more!!!

The server has been pre-ordered with multiplay so of course can cancel it anytime, we always know where we stand with them + its easy to use and set up..... costs a little more granted but worth it…. That said if every1 complains about ping/lag etc then we’ll need to change it!

Defo have a chat later about that £24/motnh server tho!



Aedus: In our clan I’ve set up a TFU dedicated bank account and paypal TFU account, we asked our dedicated members when we first started CSS to donate £8/month if they of course wanted to, thus giving them full access to admin on forums, server, vent everything.... I know that its a lot but its seriously worked for us, we were able to move to a box which failed due to terrible port numbers and lack of ranked servers etc. Because we had a large income we saved money which we've used to buy domains and other cool stuff like HLstats along with match servers etc. I have never ripped any1 off and spent the money on anything other than on the clan and i've done that for over a year.

I know some people are out of work atm etc, but our standard buy in is £8/month and of course we expect the person to join the clan after we've spoke to them. Initially we took month’s b4 inviting someone into admin, but with BC2 we of course need to get it off the ground.

The £8/month would fund the servers, the more people that pay in the more we can get.... thus meaning the more servers we get the more servers people get to admin and play around with. Everything would be done by vote and nothing bought without checking with every1 who pay's. I personally pay £15/month as i feel its only fair.

Seriously tho if we can get enough people setting up a standing order to the account we could get our box and set up servers in any games we want when ever we want rather than relying on one person to pay for the server ya know.

French has said down to a tee, what the rest of OCUK does with regards to other games is up to them, BC2 is a little different. I'm willing to give sum guys from OCUK admin so every1 can use it, that way every1 win's in that we have a vent server and a busy public. Wether people join us is up to them, either i'm not bothered so long as we have control over a server we can call ours if you get me.

The problem we got Oxy is sum people want hardcore some dont, granted on release it could be different.

That said what about a squad death match? do we want a server in that we can all use?

I guess it won't be bad given a lag free experience on the servers and if I can help police it too from cheats and exploiters it will make it better personally for me to play the game, which is why I'm thinking more-so about donating, would you also get reserved slots on the server too?

If I did donate by chance say for 3 months, then decided I didn't want to for a month, then I picked it back up again after that month off, would that still be cool? Or decided after 3 months I didn't really want to Admin anymore?

I'll have a think regardless, but like people say, I don't want to have a competition of servers between you and frenchtart where it kinda segregates OcUK, I'd rather be playing together with everyone which generally is more fun.

We have always said people can drop out of admin when ever they want, one thing we dont want is people to feel traped. As i said tho i need to thrash it out with the other leader of TFU and have a good chat with Frenchy, prehaps we should start with one server and then if it is successfull move on to another.

I'l have a good chat to you later about pal.

But there wont be any competition between me and frenchy, each server will be different thats why we've both suggested it.

Yeah we will have reserved slots for defo.
