Couldnt be bothered to search for this.

But if I pre-order a game on Steam, will it charge me now or when the game is released?

The game in question is DC Universe Online and it's out in November. Thanks :)

You buy now with paypal , i wish steam had a payment system like how you can pay a loan back , you would pay abit back each week plus interest for there profit..

You want a finance system to buy games?

with such small amounts it would have to be like those "quick cash loans" and have a 2000% APR to make any money.

Just so you know - if you do pre-order, I dont think Steam allows you to cancel it and get a refund...

ps3ud0

They'll refund pre-orders just not after they've been released or maybe if they have a free game with them.

but i guess it would lead to a lot of people not paying it back , and what then ?
valve send the balifs round? ;)

like all finance schemes it would be outsourced, valve gets their money upfront from them.

The finance company sends the bailiffs round or sells your debt to a more unscrupulous debt collection firm.

Yeah you can cancel your steam preorders so long as you email Support before the release date. Once download is available, i suspect even if its just a preload, then you're stuffed. I did it with Worms Reloaded then got it again as part of a 4 pack for a few quid less.

It really doesn't sound like it could be profitable to go collect a £2 debt using people getting paid considerably more than that per hour ><
Can just see gamers all over the world getting there legs broken...

lol it's ok ladies...I pre-ordered it last night. at least it's now paid for and I can't wait to start playing it :D

Thank you all though. I appreciate it :)

Try to avoid using Paypal with Steam. There have been some horror stories recently of users having their Steam accounts disabled when Paypal's automatic security system decides to reverse payment because it thinks something dodgy's going on.

It's then very difficult to get the account enabled again because Steam say it's Paypal's problem, and Paypal say it's Steam's problem.

you really want to buy a £30 game on a loan and end up paying back maybe £50-60 (if not more) total in repayments?

Whats wrong with people?

If the game is too expensive, you could maybe try drinking less booze or eating fewer mcdonalds for a couple of weeks, or even try taking the bus instead of your car maybe.
