Pre Season Friendly Thread 18/19

Don't do this to me Sturridge. I finally gave up on you, don't give me any false hope.

Really sucks, one of the best players for us I've seen when he is actually fit :(

Surprised manu haven't really offered anything this half, we took off a lot

Has Monica just come on for United?

Herrera such a little ****. Clearly fouls Robertson and has the cheek to argue with the ref.

Yeah was a very quick flick out with the foot to catch the foot that Robertson was pulling back. Garbage players like him would be found out in an instant with VAR used. (Imagine how many penalties Skrtel would've given away :D)

Just based on the aura around the club at the moment, I have a feeling Mourinho will be gone soon.

There's talk that the board just want to finish 4th and aren't bothered beyond that (not sure that's entirely true), and Mourinho is annoyed with the serious lack of transfer activity when half of the squad needs upgrading/replacing.

Comfortably the better side throughout the game - the other difference between the two halves is we took our chances in the second half. Not sure if I'm happy with the Sturridge and Shaqiri goal's though. Sturridge has given me hope that he's not finished and Shaqiri's now going to try that every week - their goals are only going to lead to disappointment in the long run.

He isn't starting ahead of Firmino but a fit Sturridge, who's actually willing to put his body on the line for team, is the next best thing we've got. Now that he's finished filming Glass he might actually try and do that for us.

Despite what I've said above, I refuse to get excited by Sturridge. He cannot or will not sprint anymore. I think it was the Dortmund game where Solanke played a throughball towards him and you automatically thought he's in here but Sturridge just gave up on it. His technical ability and finishing is still there but he's never going to be close to the player he was.
