Pre Watercooled case query

Guys, I've been looking at this case for a new build and really like what folk have already done with theirs.

My question is based on one of the reviews stating that you cannot fit an optical drive in without modifications to this setup.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Also if modifications were required would OCUK supply it unfilled to make it easier for me?

Hello, it looks like the radiator would extend to far and block off the top bay. Then the res combo is also 2 slots so that would use up the rest of the space.
 
I think the only way would be to see if their was space to move the bay res up to the top 2 and still fit the rad so you'd have the bottom front 5 1/4 free.
 
Aye that's what I'm thinking, could always knock up an adapter bracket to move the rad towards the rear of the case if need be.

Thought had crossed my mind - like my desk un cluttered though so want to avoid externals if at all possible.

Do we still need disk drives? have not had one in my system for over 3 years now, I bought a cheap cable on the rainforest that allows me to plug my old internal disk drive into usb and use it if I really needed it then I can just pop it in a draw and forget about it
 
my son had the pre watercooled case, and you "can" install a drive, in his he put a fan controller, ther eis enough room for one though

Why would you want it not filled ?.

That case comes in a huge square box. it is well protected. in fact it is so well packed it only just fit through our front door.

At the end of the day, customer services are really good, when you place your order. just pop a forum post in the customer services section, requesting them to place the dual bay res at the top. if they can do it they will tell you.

If I need dismantle the cooling to modify the case at all to fit the res then it would be easier if I didn't have to drain it first if you see what I mean.
