Pre Watercooled OCuK 800D or Custom Loop

If I was taking the existing fixing off the res wouldn't I risk draining water from the rad above?

no the fixing to the RAD would stay you would use another hole.

Do you really want to be pulling warm case air through the radiator?

if you use the rear fan as an intake to cool the chipset not much else will get warm, but like you say could pull air in from the top and use the rear as an exhaust but then you have the potential of warming up the internals of your case...try it both ways and see what works.

also Bubo makes some good points, personally ive always prefered front bay reservoirs it usually the only place you can see water on my builds as i use coloured tubing.

Cheers for the input.

I considered a bay res but nothing, right now, seems to be in stock to pair with a D5 Vario - that I like anyway. I won't be looking at purchasing for a few more weeks yet so will have a look what's around then :)

The additional Pump top port as a drain sounds like a solid idea.

Nice drawings, go Rad > Res > pump > cpu > gpu > back to Rad.

If you can try to keep the Res up high makes easier bleeding the loop, by feeding the pump the cooler water its supposed to extend its working life. You would thick by feeding the GPU block the warm water from the CPU the GPU would be hotter but actualy the GPU blocks cools the GPU very well. Thats how mine flows and the GPU never goes above 50'c, Cpu 4.2GHz hotest core 66'c.

I'm using the XSPC D750 Res/Pump with no probs at all, read up on water cooling plenty of info on net, just use distilled water + silver coil for coolent, no need to buy pre-mixed coolent.

Taking into consideration using a smaller res, locating the pump lower and using the spare top port as a drain, how does this look:

dont waste money on fan shrouds! if theyre going to be concealed in the roof of the case use some cheap black 120mm fans and take the rotor and cut the rotor arms off. saving 15quid! that way you can go to the expense of getting tygon tubing! mmmmm laboratory grade innert tube *dribbles*

not specced any shrouds at this time, not sure how much space I have up top to come down from with shrouding.

Don't want to start fouling ram. Need some measurements!
