prebuilt or build your own

Thanks for the reply.

I should have said in my original post that £800 is my max as that is already slightly over budget

I would say build your own. mickys is a good build with a better cpu which is a "k" series meaning it can be overclocked.

If your set on 4k a single 390x will struggle unless you turn all the settings down to try achieve 60fps.

I'd always go for a self-build.

A lot of pre-builts tend to come with the bare minimum of a motherboard. Some desktops in my office (not from OCUK, I'll add) have cheap mini ITX boards in tower cases. 2 dimm slots, 1 pci-e slot. Yes, they deliver exactly what was on the label, but you can't add anything else to them like a decent soundcard.

Building yourself you can make more informed choices about what's in there and what you'll be able to do with it in the future :)

The only thing you'll get from a predict is better cable management and a warranty on the unit. If you are on a budget, building your own is always the best value.
