It's the successor to System Shock, if people knew that, they wouldn't even think of putting Bioshock in the same frame as Gears of War. That's almost insulting.

I don't follow the scene much, all I meant was that I had no idea that bioshock was being hyped a lot and that I hoped the hype isn't undeserved. I never said it was bad or that I knew anything about it. I just don't want another overhyped game with months of threads full of people debating whether it was over hyped or not ala GoW

According to reviews, it doesn't seem undeserved. Bioshock took game of the show for two consecutive years at Gamespy and IGN, and has a 95% and a 10/10 review now.

if you only just discovered the game, you're gonna be in for a treat then. It comes out pretty soon, and there's nothing better than finding a good game you knew nothing about before.

although overlord snuck up on me, that was a pleasent surprise
