Prefered browser, Chrome or Firefox. And why?

Firefox, I prefer the extra customisation options it offers and the way it renders webpages. There's something about how Chrome renders fonts which bugs me.

Solid FF fan until this latest version which has just ruined it. So at the moment I'm using Chrome, which for the most part is fine, but I hate the stupid way it does bookmarks, and I can't customise it as much to my liking.

Here's hoping the next version of FF is a bit better.

What don't you like in the latest version?

Do you use non standard display scaling? Some apps don't play well with windows 8 scaling, have you tried turning it off? You can turn it off per-app in the compatibility tab (right click app > properties)

Hmm, never tried that to be honest. Scaling is set at 200%, most apps are fine. Interestingly, Chrome reports my resolution as 1920x1080 whilst other browsers get the native resolution correct.

I'll try turning the scaling off, see If it makes a difference to Chrome.

Turned the scaling off, fonts are sharper even when I use page zoom at 200%. :) .Only issue is It's pretty inconsistent, for example the fonts in the omnibox are minute. Still made some progress, cheers.

Overall I do feel Chrome feels nipper than IE, so If I can get It the way I want I'll probably use it full time.

Why does chrome not have private browsing? can come in handy when wifey trying to find out what you been up to lol

I'm using Chrome now,Was always Firefox for me but like mentioned its gone downhill..i think it has anyway.

I can never understand the "downhill" comment,it's still fast, plenty of customisation, rock stable(on all my PCs) ,sure you can argue about UI layout but even that can easily be changed with its awesome extensions/customisation abilities.

I personally use Firefox, feels quicker than Chrome.. On my work machine I find it quite handy that I can have a different proxy setup for Firefox than I do for Internet Explorer which allows me do some testing without affecting my day to day stuff

That being said there's not a lot wrong with Chrome I just prefer Firefox (also use FF on my phone)

FF

add-ons
skins
and most of all ...........sync across all my desktops and laptops for bookmarks etc

basically if I bookmark something on my laptop during the day.. I can chase it up in the evening or weekend on any of my other devices/workstations

I don't understand why anyone uses Internet Explorer when it seems so slow and bloated compared to Firefox and Chrome.

I use IE 99% of the time. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Once in a blue moon I'll switch to Chrome if there's a problem with a particular webpage I want to view.
