Preinstalled XP on systems ???

When you purchase a PC from a high street store, they say it is installed with the OS already.
The licence key is on a label on the box, but do you actually get a disk with the full OS on it ? ( Not just a recovery)

So, if you completely wiped your system, you are in a position to rebuild it from scratch ?

You are only buying the license so to speak. The disk they supply will get you back to factory settings in the event of recovery which is all you need. Most pre-installed machine also have a small error recovery partition where the image is stored. Some don't even provide a disk.

That said, the image will have all of the OS plus drivers pre-installed so you'll be fine.
