Having had nothing but problems and ridiculous crackling from my X-Fi Extreme Gamer fatality, i am selling it and hoping to buy a card that will actually work on Windows Vista / Nforce 680i with SLI

Has anyone had any success with this card on the above type of board, and more importantly with SLI enabled?

I really want to know before shelling out on this card, as it concerns me that the card technology could fundamentally be the same as the Creative card - and i don't want to waste even more money to have the same problem

My onboard audio is 'working fine' but having spent so much money on a new PC, its understandable to want to have 'the best' quality sound to go with the PC

Thanks

Barry

Isn't the Prelude the same as X-Fi chipset wise? I thought it was just upgraded with better quality components in the audio stages. If you are having chipset related problems with X-FI I would guess it would be the same with the Prelude...

The problems your having "should" be fixed using the prelude as they use better solid-state capacitors along with a patch out already to fix issues with having 4 or more gigs of ram which people have reported success with.

I've got Auzentech Prelude from OCUK and no probs since! Fortunately the chip is the only thing they using from bloody Creative.
