Prelude or "normal" X-Fi

Still stuck making the decision over this.
Its so far gone:

1) It does DTS/DD5.1 over optical
2) Its creative
3) But it has much better drivers
4) But it does DD etc in software and the analogue has better DACS
5) but...


So - has anyone got any reliable info on these/a review or are they still vapourware?

I'm on th hunt for a prelude review as well what i am really after is whether it can output eax surround sound effects to a 5.1 system over digital instead of just anologue.

Pretty much all im after being answered to be honest If it does that, in hardware, then im sold.
