Chances are, you're most likely to find an open wifi network not belonging to the hotel pretty easily

just DIY a Wifi dish if need be as well

Or better yet, just tether your smartphone!

Dont know if this is incorrect, but dont Travel Inn / Premier Inn use 3G blockers? reason being is because when ever I stay at one, I can never get a good enough signal on my mobile to browse using my data package.

If you have the access to servers then it is quite easy.

The worst culprits are the bigger chains like PI / TL. We look after the IT systems for quite a few small / independent hotels and they all give WiFi FOC.
