Premier league games - Amazon prime

The quality will be fantastic I'd imagine but the delay is rumoured to be around 45 seconds in comparison to a live transmission...

You would only notice the delay if watching it on stream but listening on the radio (if the matches are on the radio that is) surely?

Depends, some people have apps set up for goal alerts on their phone/smart watch and you’ll get the goal alert about 20-30 seconds before seeing it. Easily remedied I guess by turning it off while watching :)

Anything that lets me watch matches without resorting to villainy on the high seas is generally a good thing. You have to wonder how sustainable all this football/premier league business is though. So much money in the TV rights but not that many people actually watch the matches/pay for it to cover these costs.

They must do or else businesses wouldn't be paying so much for the tv rights.
The matches aren't exactly a loss leader drawing people into the broadcaster so they can make money in some other ways.

I've had delays almost up to that with live games on the BBC, etc. before :( used to be interesting when more than one place was broadcasting live and the cheers from the pub over the road could be 20 seconds ahead or behind what we were seeing (or if you had text notifications, etc.).

Amazon paid 90 million for some matches over 3 years. There is no way they will recoup that through new subscriptions. The majority will just already watch them via prime I suspect (me included).

Amazon add awesome functions like X-ray (I'm not a footie fan) but the extra information you can get with a couple of clicks seems perfect for all those statistics lovers out there.

Amazon have all the boxing day games too, right? I reckon that has to pull in some serious cash based on the number of people I've come across who were not aware Amazon even did video streaming.

watched the Liverpool v Everton game , thought the pic and sound quality was way beter than skys for some reason.
Although the commentary sounded like the sort of sound bites you used to get when playing tiger woods pga golf , not that i didnt like it.
