Premier League Television rights

The BBC should scrap rubbish like Eastenders and costume dramas and just concentrate on getting live football, the viewing figures would soar and the licence fee would then be justified, it currently isn't

As long as its either Sky or the BBC that get the remaining coverage, and something tells me it will be Sky.

I'd like to see Sky / BBC come to an aggrement and let the BBC have one package.
BBC should get the FA Cup back, And ITV shouldn't be allowed to show Champions League.

ITV's coverage / pundits are awful.
Sky's are far from good, but are vastly superior then ITV.

Sky can't get all the remaining coverage thanks to those wonderful people at the EU who decided that Sky couldn't have all the rights meaning we end up with having to pay twice to watch all the games rather than once

They could win 1 of the remaining 2 packages though just as long as they don't have all 6 packages.

ESPN are meant to be really keen to get a slice of the pie over here so reckon they could be big players for the remaining packs. Setanta will be desperate to keep them though considering they'll pretty much be screwed if they lost them.

Forget the terrestrial stations BBC have just shelled out for the F1 and keeping MOTD and ITV have the Champions league, FA Cup and England games so they won't be able to afford it either.

i would actually like to see sky get one of the remaining 2 packages as it would then cast doubt over weater it would be worthwhile for setanta to bid for 26 games, although ireckon ESPN might take a punt at it. If not only real channels to benefit will be terrestrial.
