Anyone know the time they come out and how does the computer go about drawing them, does it pick one by one or do they all get done at the same time so it instantly gives a full fixture list?

Ok thanks but is it dragged out like the Champions League draw or is there a full fixture list available at 9 there and then or does it take an hour for the computer to draw the teams out?

It has all been done, They are all posted at 9am IIRC.

They could not possibly draw them out as they need to account for holidays, rivalries, political dates, if Liverpool at home then Everton must be away etc

The method is pretty complicated, first they stick tough away matches after all Man Utd's group games though.

First they give Utd a home game on the opening day of the season, usually against one of the promoted sides :p

We'll be away to Stoke on the opening day.

It's just one man and a laptop :D remember reading a BBC article about it a couple of years back :)

Because of policing requirements (even regarding clashing with lower leagues games) and what not, and the way fixtures are 'rolled' alphabetically, the fixture list nearly always ends up looking pretty similar (ie: LFC away opening day, last day, United home first etc) because there's not much chance of any other result.
Or thats what some program the BBC did said back in the early 00's anyway.

Bound to be the usual newly promoted team v one of the top four in the first match. Sky loves to be able to show that match , seems to inevitably always starts with that. So I expect chelsea or utd v swansea in the first match, live on sky.

Yeah, like how Tombstone says above about how one of the top 4 always gets a newly promoted side. Because of all the rules to process, it's actually a massive statistical likelihood.

"Here we are! Live on Sky for the most important game Swansea have ever played"
