Oi! No hinting at competitors, no matter how subtle you want to be!

Some people will tell you the difference is huge but in my experience with an xbox(1) the difference is negligible between the standard composite-scart and an advanced RGB scart cable - in fact I can't tell the difference.

There is a massive difference between composite and RGB and you are the first person i've known to say there isn't. All i can think is that when you tried you didn't have it setup right or maybe didn't select the RGB (usually AV1) on your TV

The difference depends on the size and quality of the TV. For me the difference is huge. Better colours, clearer picture, no bleeding on text etc. If you have Sky going through RGB scart and switch between Pal and RGB, the difference is massive. I have personally not tested this with the 360 as i have an LCD but this was definately the case on my original Xbox

Yes I know how to set it up correctly :)

im confused :(

what do u mean sky going thru ya RGB and switch between it??

If you have a Sky box plugged into your TV via RGB enabled scart you would select it to use the RGB signal in the sky box settings, obviously because it has superior picture quality. From these settings you can switch between RGB and Pal signals, the difference is huge. To me, this is the same as going between Advanced scart and composite scart on the xbox.

If they bring out the HDMI cable which news pages say then you will notice the difference.

Mines running composite but I have a premium so HD-TV all the way, If you run the cable normal then switch to HD you can see a big difference

Agreed, the difference is huge, just after i got it installed into my room i changed it to RGB as the installer guy left it on PAL lol. :)

EDIT: Just noticed my first post, sorry thought that would be ok. :p

I couldn't personally tell much of a difference between the advanced Scart lead and the normal one. I assume I set it up correctly, tried both AV ports. Could hardly see any improvement at all. *shrug*

It depends on the tv. If you have a decent TV that takes an RGB signal then it makes the world of difference.

My advanced SCART arrived yesterday and it makes even more difference with the 360 than it did with the original XBox. Far more vivid colours and greater definition.

My TV does accept RGB input, I double-checked my manual last night to make sure I wasn't mistaken. I did and do have it connected correctly and the correct channel selected on the TV. If I try hard to see a difference (which isn't easy as you need to to power off the console and swap leads, then restart) the colours probably do look slightly more vivid with RGB but it could also be the placebo effect at work. Suffice to say, on my Philips TV (circa 2001) the difference is negligible.

The difference range can be quite big depending on how good the TV is.

Our 28in Sony Wega TV didn't make a massive difference, it just make all the text and general display look far sharper and less flickery than before.

But on my brothers 32in cheapo ASDA TV, the difference was pretty amazing, colours were far better, you could actually read more text as it was so blurry at times on smaller text.

Yeah ive got a Sony 28" Widescreen, and when i swap my Sky backwards and forwards from PAL to RGB, the difference is massive, on PAL the colours are like washed, and it looks major sharp, like the edges of everything, it kinda looks like you know when you tune a Tv station in, and its just a bit off, looks like that, but when i switch it back to RGB all the colours jump out, and the picture looks really smooth. :)
