I spoke to EE on the phone just now and asked about 0800, and general 08XX and 09XX premium rate numbers. 0800 was always free for me on my previous T-Mobile tariff, and so were some other numbers but apparently they're all chargeable now, even 0800. Between 20p and 40p, with 09XX numbers being more expensive.

The female on the phone recommended I download an app from the play store (0800 app I think she called it) where I can type the number I want to call and it can convert it into a standard number that can be used as part of my unlimited calls. Has anyone here tried that and does it work for most premium numbers?

Got a text from EE saying 0800, 0808 and 116 numbers will be free for 1st July.

Thanks kona, that's good to know! The female on the phone didn't mention that, but she had just come back from holiday so probably wasn't up to speed.

116 numbers btw? Not seen those.

and there's a £3 add on that will make all 0845, 0870 etc free.

In fact, I've had an add-on £5 that makes all 08 numbers FOC (they then credit me £5 PM) to cover the cost.

An add on might be handy, yeah. What do you mean they credit you £5 PM? Did you mean they debit you £5 every month?
