Preorder PC Games Fraud Warning

I think he means Game. Come on be sensible. no one is going to get banned for saying Game accounts have been hacked.

I am quite suprised by that as I came across another that has been mentioned: a certain mega high street chain that was previously owned by Branson and renamed. Only the scam was effecting pre-ordered dvd's; cards being cancelled and delivery dates of purchased items being put back 'till after Christmas etc.

so has anyone actually had any problems with this other than the op? i can't find anything anywhere about it and there's nothing on the site. if they had a large scale fraud problem it would be all over the news surely?

Make your own minds up but my experience was as follows:

Preorder Prince Of Persia.

Get email saying its been declined so contact my credit card company. They tell me this website has been subject to a high level of fraud in the last few days affecting 1000s of people.

I then add the details of my 2nd credit card (totally different bank) onto their website to preorder the same game again.

Few hours later same email to say its been declined again, contact my 2nd credit card company and they say card has been cancelled due to fraud concerns with this website.

Coincidence, maybe but the odds are surely incredible. Perhaps it only affects certain people but my PC has no spyware, malware or keyloggers. Unless it affects loads of people at once its unlikely to generate much publicity as this is probably the busiest time for them and they must be generating record revenue so any negative publicity around this would hurt them badly as online sales must be a lot of their business. I even contacted them about this and they gave me a generic BS canned answer from the 101 excuses phrase book.

I wonder if anyone would like to volunteer as a test subject:p

And I wonder how many people would like to find out the hard way that they may not have a credit card for xmas as postal slowdown means getting a replacement may take longer than expected:(
