Just a quick topic.

Has anyone here bought a preowned PS3 from the highstreet?

whats the warranty like on it and should i be cautious about buying it, or should i save a bit more for it new. Seems a bit tad expensive atm at £300.

I am interested in the responses this thread gets.

But remember, any pre-owned ones wont be bundled with new DS3s, which im hoping wont take too long to filter through.. hmmm

Well they are all tested before the old owner can sell it to the shop, so no worry about it not working.

You get 1 years warranty with Sony for internal breakdowns (Accidents not covered). One shop does its own warranty for an extra £20 (I think, might be £30) for 2 years accidental damage cover.

I assume at £300 it's a 60GB version?

nah, the 40gb deals are about £300, im not too fussy about backwards compatability as the 60gb models seem to be a bit shabby for doing it.

im mainly going for the 40gb version and will trade some games in. as gord says i think i will also wait for DS3 to start coming in or trade some games in for the controller.

£300 for a 40Gb?? Theyre less than that new! You could get a 60Gb cheaper than that. £210-£220 for a 2nd hand 40Gb.

Comes with 3 £25 games and an extra controller though, pretty good deal.

not really after that though, its £250 on its own. just not sure whether i want a preowned one.could get it for £200 if i trade some old stuff in.
