Prep to sell my iPhone 4S?

As in, what do I need to do before I hand it over?

Full format and remove SIM. Anything else? Can I just pop my sim in a used iPhone 5S and it works or do I need to contact Virgin?

Unlock it if you haven't already. If you are out of contract your service provider should be able to do this for you over the phone.

Do a full backup of your phone, restore it to 5s and put your sim card in and check it all works.

If all is good then go back to your 4s and make sure you disable find my iphone on it before your format it.
