Ok, so got a 3570k 3.4 and had a fiddle with easytune which set it at 4.33 with no apparent issues in Prime at a steady 40 idle / 70 load temp. Not too keen on software overclocks but completely clueless about overclocking. Seriously, even the 'simple' guides make me glaze over.

So if i kill the easytune and up the core clock in bios to 4.2, which as i understand it is the last point before you need to start messing around with voltages, will that do the trick? Or do i need to start messing with memory timings and other things? Id be happy with 4.2.

Seriously, dont bother pointing me to guides. Ive read all the simple ones and my brain shuts down, but for Poker it flies. Go figure.

Yeah, try it.

Test for stability with Prime95 and monitor the temps.

For your RAM, either set the timings/frequency to whats on the sticks, or load a XMP profile if it has that which will do it all for you.
