hi guys just trying to find a GPU for around £100, £150 max for my setup, i dont play games on here, my spec is,
i5 - 4670K
gigabyte d3hp mobo
8gb ram
EVO cpu cooler
corsair 500w PSU

id like the GPU to help me encode and render video's more efficient and also to allow me to have dual monitor setup (which im lead to believe you need a GPU to have dual monitor, as my mobo only has 1 dvi port)

does this seem up to the job?

again dont mind spending a bit more if needed, or if not needed save a bit, thanks guys :)

WOW just came across this, this looks sweet for the price!! any recommendations? think this one might be hard to beat for the price but im only browsing not really knowing much lol

edit, only just seen this one only has 1 dvi port so i wont be able to have dual monitor with this GPU right? or could i plug 1 monitor in to the GPU and the other monitor into the mobo I/O on the back? im very new to this so sorry for the stupid questions lol

7850 would be perfect for that price range. The only other equivalent i can think of would be a 660 and that ranges at about £150.
You can plug a monitor in the DVI port and another in the HDMI or mini display ports!

looks like ill go with the 7850 then :)

my monitor only had 1 dvi and 1 vga on it tho and i was going to get the same monitor so they match, i suppose i could plug monitor 1 in to the dvi port on the GPU then get a hdmi to vga converter so my vga port on the monitor can plug into the hdmi on the GPU, that would work right?

If your not playing games there is no need to spend that much on a video card.

What program are you using for your video rendering? As some programmes work better with Nvidia whereas other work better with AMD.

What overclock are you running on your 4670K? If you haven't get clocking :D

I hear the 78xx and 79xx are good at video encoding which is why I recommended the 7850 as well. Not too much knowledge on the video side of things so best listen to bru if he is

yep that should do. I did have HDMI to DVI previously when I had triple monitors.

good, good :)

hi mate, im using adobe premiere pro and after effects for my video editing and rendering, what GPU would you suggest then? im liking the looks of the 7850 tho, im sitting at 4ghz clock at the moment, been up to 4.2ghz but my cpu cooler cant really cope with 4.2ghz, i do plan on getting corsair's water sealed cooling unit but that wont be any time soon

thanks mate, think im leaning with the 7850
