Mine is about 60cm at home 80cm in the office.
I really struggled with the varifocals. Especially when I renewed the prescription. Really struggled to get the "zones" dialed in. First time the made the reading part too big, then too small. Also terrible distortion with some of them.
This is why I got a non varifocal pair just for the computer. Don't use pen and paper anymore. So that's part of that. I'll use the varifocal for casual stuff but when getting into it, I'll use the computer glasses.
