Prescription eye adaptors for VR

Very nice. Just hope they'll be reasonably priced. I'd be worried that Oculus/HTC won't keep the lens dimensions the same between successive iterations of their HMDs though, so that a new lens would be required each time you upgrade your headset.

Actually considering something like this - have a decent astigmatism so unsure how comfortable VR might be for me - mainly when not having a perfect IPD setup I guess.

Yep that appears to be the case, Rift still has IPD adjustment (a slider on the HMD) but no longer has adjustment for the distance from your eyes to the lens.

Also the IPD adjustment is different on the Vive, you get a onscreen display showing you what it is so you know exactly what it is. The Rift its a guess until right by moving the slider.

Diopter adjustment helps people who normally wear glasses to use the headset without glasses, but that assumes they have no astigmatism, which everyone I know who wears glasses doesn't just have a straight Diopter change... the Rift has a better fit for glasses wearers so no longer needs Diopter adjustment

This was just added to the Oculus FAQ:
What size glasses fit in the headset?

To use glasses with your Rift headset, they must fit within the following specifications:

A frame width of 142mm or less
A frame height of 50mm or less
