Went to the pool for the 1st time in a long time. Came out with blurry vision from all the chlorine. I read this and had 3 options: elastic glasses holders, large goggles over my glasses and prescription goggles. Elastic holders were out, as I can't see through my glasses with water in the way. Large goggles and prescription goggles are roughly the same price, with some prescription goggles being as affordable as Argos ones. But custom prescription goggles from the same company start at £65, and I'm not sure how seriously I want to take up swimming. This is the only company I could find that goes as high as -10, which is pretty close to my prescription. At £16.50, it's basically on par with normal and large goggles. However, they don't take astigmatism into account. So I wanted to know from users with complex prescriptions whether generic prescription goggles worked for them.

are a good economic solution, like £25 all in, and last 3-4 years , been using them 20 years, I usually keep my eyes open for deals on lenses
the lense skirts are what the chlorine and compression against the eye sockets eventually kills, even if you pay $$$.
I can, unfortunately, see all the tattoos that the other pool inhabitants now have, fine, plus the weather outside

i bought prescription googles
you don't need them to be perfectly accurate, so some of the readings from your eye test aren't needed
im -11 and -10 and i bought some , money well spent !

That's disappointing. Guess there's no point getting custom lenses. One eye is -9 while the other is -11, with a cyl of 1.5. I did fine without glasses, although the pool was pretty empty. So I guess I'll just go with the -10s then.

yes I'd never get mirrored with sun attenuation, or grey, for indoor swimming it's depressing
I've used older speedo biofuse before I needed glasses but hydropure appears to have inferior silicon skirts, lens sides aren't opaque either, which is depressing for lower light indoor swimming - hypoallergenic silicon is a marketing myth - just means it doesn't bleed as much silicon oil, and can become irritating.
cressi anti fog is fine - just a drop in each lens rubbed with finger tip a few hours before swim - spray dispenser are pretty wasteful so better to undo top;
lasts for years, longer than the goggle lens skirts.

I wear contacts normally, and just use normal goggles. Is that a possibility? (I've not idea what the limit is to contacts, failing that what about what I'd class as "scuba" face masks, you know the one piece ones? Last resort is always the bubble thing
