Surely these chips must be good? Im looking at the Presler dual core 2.8ghz, im assuming this is two 2.8ghz cores, 5.6ghz theoretically. Im hearing all the rage about the X2's but the Preslers have 4mb of cache, 2mb per core and 65nm process and some have 1066fsb, wtf? surely these must be FAST.

Intel Pentium 4 920 Dual Core "LGA775 Presler" 2.8GHz (800FSB) - Retail (CP-111-IN) Price: £154.95 (£182.07 Including VAT at 17.5%)

thats for a dual core 2.8, 800fsb, 2x2mb cache, 65nm AND people are raging about the X2's

the chepeast X2 is

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) - Retail (ADA3800BVBOX) (CP-134-AM) Price: £179.95 (£211.44 Including VAT at 17.5%)

So the pentium4 is 30 quid cheaper, double the cache, 65nm process compared to X2 90nm the only thing i can think of the X2 being faster is that its dual core 3.8 compared to intels dual core 2.8 am i correct on this?

Yeah suppose it does but not by a huge amount im just thinking how fast these must be on general desktop work
