Okay so I have a new system setup with a Laing DDC-1T plus pump and I have wired up the blue wire to the CPU fan header and I am getting the fan error, should that be reporting the RPM of the pump to the fan CPU header or can I just ignore it?

Just put your fan warning to disabled on your BIOS. No need to wire to the header then

That's odd, it should be working, does your Motherboard have two CPU fan headers? I.E a main and optional one? could be complaining as one is not connected, the RPM on a DDC will be more than enough to satisfy a CPU fan speed check.

Would a motherboard detect no voltage is being used therefore disregarding the rpm as a functioning fan?

I just turned mine off in the bios it wasn't happy regardless of what was plugged into it haha.

my z77 asus gene board did this when i moved the fans onto a controller

I just disabled the warning in the bios and all is good.

Yeah that is what I have done but I kinda like the idea of being able to see the RPM of the pump so that I can get some warning if it breaks down
