Ok just built my first pc and obviously have encountered my first problem.
Everything seems to be powered up fine so I switch on - no problem
I go into bios setup - no problem
I go into raid setup and configure my drives - seemed ok
Now go to install windows and get hit by a blue error screen with error message:-
stop:0x0000007E(0xffffffffc6666665,0xfffff8000985E251,0xfffff98000A05B98,0xfffff98000A055770)
So not having a clue what that is I've had a look thru for other peoples problems and remedies and came up with ram voltages so I've set them in bios to manafacturer spec and tried again .....
same error
HELP PLEASE

does the memory show up ok in bios, and have you tried a single stick in the various mem sockets ?

I'm guessing when you boot up you get a nice big logo screen of some sort? Well if you press TAB that will bring up details of the technical checks and system info that go on in the background when you turn your PC on.

As for the error, I've got no idea, sorry!

EDIT: Try reseting your BIOS to default settings and trying with just one hard drive (ie no RAID) to see if its an issue with either of them.

What RAM do you have, have you configured the BIOS to the required voltage for the RAM and try running Memtest86 to ensure the RAMs OK.

Ok I,ve removed the sound card one of my g92 gts's and 1 stick of memory and i'm getting further

so thanks

Now i can get part way through the vista installation but when i get to choose which hard drive to install too and i choose load driver (I'm using the driver as per msi p7n instructions) The driver loads but then windows says it cant find a suitable drive to instell too even tho i can see it there on the screen vista musnt like it eh ?

Check your hard drives are connected to the motherboard and power supply properly. Do they show up in your BIOS settings?

yes they show up in bios - I have been able to access them to configure the raid array

take it u're you looking to run raid on the 2 disks ?, if not you shouldn't need the driver, disconnect one of the drives if you just want to install without raid.
