Pressing reset button always puts my clockspeed to default?

I have a GA-Z68XP-UD4 and I cant use my reset button as it always resets my cpu to default speeds.. Anyone else have this problem and if so, is there a fix?

Maybe the mobo thinks the clocks are unstable because it doesn't shut down properly with a reset.

Yeah that what I thought aswel, but whats the point having a reset button if everytime you use it, it goes and puts everything todo with the cpu to default and says its unstable when it isnt. Ive tried updating the bios to F6 but its still the same.

Hmmm this possibly could be the issue.
Who overclocked the system, was it somebody who knew what they were doing?

It was I, and it must have taken me about 2 weeks to get it stable, as I like to stress my cpus with "intel burntest" on the max setting for a min of 24hrs and then I know its completely stable

What causes you to keep having to use the reset button?

I've had 2 Sandy Bridge systems with fully stable overclocks for over 12 months.

I don't think I've ever had to use the reset button due to the system locking etc.

About 2days ago for the first time since just before xmas, as resuming from standby caused it to freeze for some reason.

Ive tried the reset button when its in dos, and it still changes the settings

What happens if you hold the power button down to switch off instead of using the reset switch?

Have you checked and re-checked that the reset switch is connected to the right headers on the motherboard?

It doesn't matter which way round you connect the +ve and -ve pins.

Holding the power switch down turns it off and thats what Im using atm if I need to reset, as it doesn't alter any of my settings.

I will check to make sure its connected up correctly, but Im guessing if it was connected up wrong, it wouldn't work at all, thanks
