I have a very old Karcher K2.29 that has died, the pump still works but water shoots out of the front of the casing when you turn it on. I was hoping it was the cheap (a fiver) plastic hose connection elbow that had split, which apparently is a common fault. After opening it up to check this is fine and the water is actually shooting out of various different places on the main housing of the pump. I think I only paid about £30 for this pressure washer well over a decade ago and the parts to repair it are going to be more than it's worth. I want to replace it but (unbelievably) they seem to cost more than £30 for a new one these days! Whilst I'm aware there are better options than Karcher, I would ideally like to get another Karcher so I can continue to use the existing hose and foam lance I have. I was hoping to find somewhere selling refurbished ones minus any accessories for cheap. But I can't find any. What other brands of pressure washer share the tool/hose fittings? Does anyone know where I can get just the Karcher bare units?

Thanks

Dave

Did you leave water in it from when you've last used it and left it somewhere where it can freeze? The cheaper karchers have plastic pumps which will crack if frozen with water inside, my dad killed my old K2 by not draining it after using it. I got a refurbished Karcher K4 from Karcher Outlet quite a few years ago now, has been fine.

Thanks all, I really don't want to switch brands unless I can use my existing Karcher stuff, plus I have a snow foam lance that only fits Karcher so I don't want to have to replace that as that cost about £40 on its own. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washi...lance-various-fittings/prod_371.html?notice=1

After a morning of trawling the interweb, I have found a new Karcher K2 Premium with no hoses or lance for just shy of £50 delivered. Exactly what I needed.

It does live in a shed in the garden, but I do drain off as much water as I can after using it. I think for a cheapo, low end Karcher it's done quite well to last almost 10 years.

If anyone knows if any of the other brands have Karcher fittings that would be handy so I know for next time? I'm thinking workzone or parkside or one of the non main brand ones.

Cheers

Dave

You can get adapters e.g https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00OA19QR8/ref=asc_df_B00OA19QR851025152 (note not sure if that is the correct one), but still fairly pricey for what they are.

With regards to your snow foam lance, you can just buy a replacement fitting, as they just unscrew e.g. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washi...arious-adaptors-for-foam-lances/prod_807.html (for a c110 or similar you need a Nilfisk/alto fitting)

Damn, didn't see those adapters. That was one of my main justifications for staying with Karcher! I will know for next time, which hopefully won't be for a long time if this ones lasts as well as the old one!

Thanks
