Hey all,

I heard about this some time ago from Engadget, now it's out and I'm downloading it atm :D

Presto uses a system similar to Ubuntu's where it can install itself to a directory on your C: (I forget the name of Ubuntu's method. :o)

I shall be giving it a whirl tonight and hopefully some screenshots and comments on it :)

My main attraction with it is it's fast boot times, I'm always after faster startup times.

Download here.

Update: I got a 'error mounting to Windows drive' screen so no screenshots, yet :o :p I've submitted a tech support request so we shall see how it goes :)

From my playing today its seems that you have to have an Windows install for it to run. I tried getting it to run from a usb stick but no joy.

ps - ubuntu = wubi

I wish I could get it to work in the 1st place. I love the idea of it (fast boot times, Wubi like usage) even though it doesn't seem to work in practice.
Hopefully the final version will be a lot better then this :p

Wesley, if you could put a support request in detailing your issues, hopefully they can sort it out for you.

How fast are these fast boot times?

You'd be better off installing Xubuntu via Wubi if the boot times are into double figures with this Presto guff.
