Anyone seen this?

Pret has just launched "YourPret", it's 20 quid a month, allowed 5 drinks a day, most of the menu is on there.

I find that really good value, I'd never ever use pret because you get small 12oz for high price, but it's worth it for 20 quid a month as long as making use of at least 2 coffees a day.

I'm sure if Pret survives this would increase competition so Costa and Starbucks etc.. would need to start doing it, should bring coffee prices down.

I've never been to a coffee shop on my life because I don't like it enough to pay stupid money.

If I was walking past one for work and this offer was on I'd be definitely tempted.

2 a day, nearly 20 days a month?

50p a cup is good deal.

It's a max of 5 a day as far as I can see in T&C. You can't buy them all at once, think 30 mins apart, so could go before work, dinner, after work.

I guess for many it would be 2 a day. One going in one leaving work. So works out 50p a cup?

Coffee shops must have been rinsing it before

What are they usually, £2.50 odd? Even if you get one a day it's still ok value.

Just because it's cheaper than the previous overpriced cost, doesn't necessarily mean it's OK value, that's the whole DFS marketing strategy! (buy this £300 sofa for £500 instead of the £1,000 we previously advertised it for...)

Considering I can get a bag of coffee beans which lasts 6 cups a day for over a month for £14, yes, yes they were (of course, you pay for the "service" etc. but it's still a significant markup for mediocre coffee)

It's decent value as it's cheaper than all the other competition. They aren't competing with home coffee machines as it's never going to cheaper but it's for the people who regularly get coffees at least few times a week at one of the big chains.

Good value if you use it and don’t buy anything else when you are there. Of course, they won’t make their money on people who do that; it’ll be those who buy it and never use, or pair it with a pastry etc.

I’m not buying it because Pret coffee is filthy.

Subscription model is a great business model. You might get someone buying a coffee randomly, so get their 3.50 or whatever it is. With this, you're definitely getting their 20quid, much like the gym, if you go more and use it, they make less per cup, but they still get more $$$ coming in monthly as a result.

Must be some pretty dodgy beans! £6 for 250g of decent beans is the cheapest I can source.

You’d get sick of them....even if you regularly buy 2-3 coffees a day you’d feel obliged to go to Pret and would get bored of them
That’s my thought anyway :

I don't think I've ever had theirs but most of the big chains coffee isn't that great coffee either.

Has beans

I’m no stranger to their shores, but was just trying to work out the logistics of 6 coffees a day, for a month, for £14.

I make that 180 coffees for £14.

I think the recommended ratio is 30g/500ml for most things (e.g. French Press). Let’s assume a cup is 250ml, so 2 per pot or 15g per cup.

15 grams x 6 coffees per day = a daily use of 90g coffee per day, times 30 days in a month = 2.7kg of coffee required per month.

2.7kg of coffee for £14.

So, either the poster has an amazing source, my maths is wrong, or I’m going to the wrong places.
