So I don't mind challenging games but either I suck or it's just unevenly hard, I'm only at the start only have gloo gun and a wrench. Went up near trauma center to track a side quest. Two phantoms just owned me, there is also one below with few mimics.

My attack movement seems so slow and stamina is as if my character just ate a pie buffet and has post meal sedation.

Is there a way I should play this? Am I trying to take them on far too early?

Some people have a shotgun at this point don't get how I don't even have a bloody pistol

There are a few explosive canisters which you can move to a choke point, lure a phantom to them and set then off for an instant kill. Alternatively, there are 2-3 turrents in the area which you can use to set a trap for the phantoms. Note that the turrets are very fragile and often get knocked out instantly so they are most effective when the aliens are focused on you.

The first few hours of the game are more about avoidance than attack. Once you start picking up more weapons and neuromods, it becomes a lot easier though.

The Shotgun was dropped into the safe in your office as part of a pre-order deal I think.

You seem to also have missed quite a bit as you can get both the 9mm and Shotgun from the Lobby if I remember.
  • The shotgun can be found in the IT security room, for the door you need a keycard but you can also get in using the vent near the locked IT security door without the keycard
  • The 9mm can be had in the teleconferencing centre in the Lobby as well.
Avoidance is the best tactic until you are tooled up and even then it's still a pretty good method of staying alive as some of the later Typhon are a pain in the backside depending on the difficulty.

Ah okay, I haven't bothered going to office yet, I'll look around more on lower level you enter in then first

The first Phantom i saw once that guy reveals that you're in space, i used my Gloo Gun and hid behind the display once he used his attack, then i used my Gloo Gun again and hit him twice with the wrench, then used my Gloo Gun again and did the same, then he ran off by the stairs.

Now, this took a few tries, so i was aware of the numerous spider like characters who will jump me, so i waited in the room that the Phantom walked into when i first saw him, and a minute later the Phantom came back in the room and i finished him off.

This was on the second hardest difficulty.

There is also a mod in that room and i used it to increase my health etc on the skills screen before i engaged.

Edit: Just realised you don't have this weapon, but if you go back to the place where you got the Gloo Gun, make some steps with it to the upper level and you get a stun gun.

The part in the Trauma centre was the game biggest difficulty spike for me and the only part of the game I struggled with. As everyone says though - once you start levelling up you'll be more of a match of the bigger enemies. My advice is to disregard the advice regarding not using Alien Powers - the ultimate reward for doing this isn't worth it IMHO.

Alien powers?? Maybe i went there too soon, i went into big room and part of station blew up and got told to go to office to see some video,

Neuromods.
As you level up you can get access to Typhon powers and which have some 'consequences' that really aren't worth worrying about and using them doesn't change the ending so I'd say just use them as already suggested.

Ah i see guess there different to the few mods i have picked up so far, I got a shotgun now :P i explored some more and found it, like it so far, game is nice graphically too.
