Price Cuts on AMD

Just read that AMD are cutting up to 20% off of their CPU range.....how long does this normally take to filter down to the retailers such as OCUK.....I am just about to build a rig around the X2 4800 so any price saving is good news...

It would make sense with the arrival of am2. I'm building a second system and trying to find an A64 s939 < £70 is near impossible..

No idea how long it would take though, maybe a couple of weeks?

Yay!!! I may be able to afford my 64bit system sooner than i had hoped....

I already have everything i need, apart from the processor....

Cheaper processors means i'll be able to get one within a couple of weeks, just when they go down in price ;)

Got my Opteron 170 (BNIB retail) for £235, don't think the price cut can even match it :D otherwise I will kick myself badly.

Thats cheap, you sure thats not a 165 :p

If so did u buy that a while ago or recentley? (new?)

Hmm, at least I could read it said 170 on the box. I bought it a few weeks ago in the middle of the "Opteron-fever" :o , I have a friend in America, hence the price :p

probably when am2 is released more than likely....

doubt opterons will go down much ... that many people wanting them..

should have got an opteron about 4month ago.. would have got one cheap as chips... think it was £90 or something

Could-a-shoud-a-would-a's 'ay?

Best time to buy is always two weeks away. So just take the plunge now. Face is, your going to lose money if you buy computer parts. Facts. So if you going to lose it anyways...

*Agents rant over*

Yeah tis always the problem but also the good thing about the technology industry. Yeah people get screwed over due to the speed things change but then with faster change to better performing hardware the happier we would be. Just a shame this doesn drive prices down more, but then theres obvious manufacturing process that are holding that back.

True, true. Its always fun to have the best of the best, or clock it to be that. Just its annoying losing so much money on the kit.

I mean I have 2x Processors (3800venice, 3700SD), 1x mobo (A8N-SLi Delux), and a few other bits of old hardware which need selling, but I need to post to flog them on the MM...

OH well, time to spam (almost).

Agent
