okay any cuts on QX6800 ? it seems damm expensive :(

It is the current top end Intel CPU and the high end always command a price premium. Why not go for the Q6600 and save a lot of cash for not that much performance loss, particularly when overclocked. Oh and welcome to the forums. :)

According my work colleague today who was with Intel last week in America, there should be some price cuts coming to the Xeon Quad cores atleast...And theyre quite big cuts i think =/.

Sorry i cant help a lot more, but Intel are generally lowering cpu costs over the summer if i remember correctly.

thx you all

But I'm wondering if there's any point getting cut-price quads, when there's the 45nm processors coming out?

I need to know how much the 45nm processors are going to cost before I can decide whether I can buy a quad core!

indeed as with most pc part price cuts, all it means is there is something newer and better on the way

more than a quad probably ;)

are the 45nm tht much more powerful than the quad ?

I read that they are having trouble getting "past" 3Ghz with the current Penryn's.. so they will be working on them again to try and remedy that. Still even 3Ghz on a Penryn sounds like a pretty nice chip to me :)

Please don't ask me where I read it.. lol.
