Incredible value from AMD considering how powerful and capable these processors are. :)

Who is going to buy one of those now? Think I'll wait a few days :p
i imagine they will sell like absolute hotcakes. the bang for buck is strong. R5 2600, b450 mobo, some cheap ram and a 580 gpu and you've a lovely little gaming pc for very little (relatively speaking) outlay.

I've done exactly this, B450 Mortar, 2600 and my existing 580 for the kids.

Not sure I'll need to OC for the kids, but do have a spare AM4 heatpipe tower if so. From the 2019 benchmarks it seems the 2600 @ 4.2Ghz seems to be plenty for gaming unless you're chasing >100Hz or have spent £500 on a GPU.

With a 60Hz monitor, I think any more would be wasted.

I'll probably delay until September for my Zen 2 build as I won't get much free time until then, it's summer after all! I only need mobo and CPU rest is ready to rock. By then we should have good information on the chips and which motherboards perform best with some independent (non AMD review sheet) testing.

Whilst we do have a new set of chips on the horizon, it doesn't take away the fact that with the price reductions decent performance can still be had!

Crazy value for money. £400 gets you a solid core of a gaming machine!

Yup, just pay Nvidia and extra thousand pounds and you're there! :D:D

that is utterly bonkers considering the cost/performance. i care not 1 iota about fanboyism but amd have to be applauded, whether this was their intention or not they have really opened the pc market right back up again as it was fast becoming the nichest of niche things where only the gucci belt wearing high earners could play!! not long ago 400 quid was getting you an office pc, if you were lucky, that would do sod all other than send emails, open word docs and play a bit of minesweeper.
