With the lauch of the RX 5500 (XT?) imminent, do you think retailers will reduce the price of the older cards of similar performance, i.e RX 570, 580 and 590?

Don't know whether to hold off on picking up an RX 590 for my sister's build. They're currenty at £175-£200, be nice to see them come down to £140-£175..

But the pound went up recently. We keep being told the reason for price hikes is due to it dropping so surely it goes both ways :P

Personally I think the RX 590 (New) is overpriced, its basically a 2 year old RX 580 with a faster clock speed.

But the pound went up recently. We keep being told the reason for price hikes is due to it dropping so surely it goes both ways :p

That is why the prices of the 590's dropped, fresh stock from Powercolor, Sapphire and GIgabyte, all under £190, cheapest here:

PowerColor Radeon RX 590 Red Dragon 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card @ £175.99 inc VAT https://www.overclockers.co.uk/powe...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-197-pc.html

AXRX590 8GBD5-DHD, Boost: 1545MHz, Memory: 8192MB 8000MHz GDDR5, Stream Processors: 2304, DirectX 12 Support, AMD CrossFire, AMD Eyefinity, VR Ready, 2 Years Warranty

Only £175.99 inc VAT.

So its quite a drop from the £200+ they were, AMD official drop is $5, hence the pound strengthening has given the much larger dip in price.

Just like how 9900K is back to £469 and 9700K and 9600K has reduced, but the prices fall silently, but no one ever see's and you just all want to complain. :p

OP just wait for the 5500, and get that or maybe the 1660.

I personally wouldn't bother with buying an older generation GPU as new. Used market yes but New, no.

The only real reason to get new would be the bundle of games you get, if you were going to buy them games anyway it will save you a bit of money.
