With the new nvidia cards out, is there any expected time for the prices to drop for the mainstream cards.
Which is the better card the 8800gtx or the 9800gtx. they are quite similar in price.

Thanks for the quick response. Yea iv seen the 4850's mentioned on the forum. Is there any links to reviews to some the performance difference.
Also iv seen 4870's mentioned to are these going to be above 4850's?
What price will the 4870 be when it comes out?

4870s will be more powerful than the 4850s and at release probably around the £200 mark.

Have a look in some of the 4850 threads for some reviews.

Ocuk briefly put up the 4870's for pre-order a few days ago and they were £200-£220

Yeah definately hang fire for the 4870's on Wednesday. :)

I wouldn't take any notice of those prices that were supposedly revealed by accident though. ;)

Will do thanks. Yea figured they would probably be around £200. I have seen there is a 1024mb version of the 4850 aswell as the 512's.
Would there be much difference between the two. I budgeted around £150 quid for a GPU but could stretch to the £162 if its worth getting the 1024mb version.
