We're looking at options to get to the TT in June. Now I can understand paying over the odds because it's an incredibly in-demand event with limited availability. Hell, even double I could still understand but almost 11x the going rate for a flight? Come on...

Ah well, ferry it is then.

Hey Diddums, the ferry is just as bad fella. Price goes up 50% easily for the three weeks over TT

My parents live on the island, have done for the last ten years, dads a Marshall for Southern 100 and TT and other events. We (missus, little un and myself) go over for Pre TT week, lots of events and things to do.

Enjoy it though, its an excellent experience.

If people will pay it, they will charge it. I can't blame them tbh, they're out there to make money. Doesn't make it any easier to swallow for the consumer though, and I'd be similarly narked if the same thing happened to me.

Cheers, we're really looking forward to it. We've got a hotel booked right in the main town so that's half of it done. A friend of a friend says he's also going down and is sailing there so we're going to see if that's an option as well. I also like the idea of renting a boat myself. Might as well, when you're looking at a grand for a flight, suddenly loads of other, more fun options become available for similar or less money.
