Price increased.

You do get an extra small touch screen monitor for that £500. :P

You don't!

2015 Base spec 13" MBP - £999.
2016 Base spec 13" MBP - £1449. No touch bar.
2016 13" MBP with touch bar - £1749.

Benchmarks are showing the base 2016 model is actually slower than the 2015 model. They've moved from a 5th to a 6th generation i5, but this is more than offset by a much lower clock speed.

Other than being slimmer and lighter, the new base model is £450 more for a worse machine. They've bumped this price up everywhere too, so it's not just to do with the drop in the £.

Worth noting that this isn't all currency, prices have gone up dramatically everywhere. In fact we're cheaper than the US on some models (remember US prices are ex VAT!)

But it ranges from 0% to 8%, so one can still make an argument for 0% as much as the 8%.

Just fly over there and bring one back

Doesn't make a difference anymore as the pound is so weak. I was in the US last month looking to get an iPad, was cheaper to by it in the UK.

It was £130 cheaper back in June even when you add on the 8 or 9% city tax.
