Price matching on a 30D?

Do any of you chaps know if any high street retailer will do price matching on say a Canon 30D?
Every high street shop will do price matching, but there is a clause, i think i am right in saying that it has to be in a 10 to 15 mile radius and it has to be in stock, i have gone to currys before now and bought something from the high street store and it was £50 cheaper on there site, i printed it out and took it with me, thay gave it to me for the internet price...

That's exactly what I did with the 30D at a certain chainstore only a couple of weeks ago. Check the internet price on their site first. They have the 'instore price' listed and usually it's quite shocking. Their internet pricing isn't too bad at all especially if you need the thing straight away. Print the info off and wander in. If you need a CF card immediately then print some of their prices off as well. The price of a 2gb Sandisk extreme was about £210 when I went!! A few moments after waving the internet prices around it was a much more reasonable £100 (I know you can get them cheaper but I needed the camera that day ;)). Do people actually pay these prices?! They must do as the shop was overcrowded with people handing money over for the latest cameras.

Oh and if you a have a big white lens to try on the body take it in. The girl serving me exclaimed, 'I've never seen one so big! What do you use it for?!'

Unfortunately that's the only time a girl has said that to me. :( ;)

save your money and just buy from hk or america. I've done it 3 times on on 300d, 20d and 5d and saved myself an absolute packet. email in trust for the best seller if you are interested.

There's no international warrenty on bodies though is there?

I've done a whole lot more research and have decided to find a good s/h 1D. Just a question of finding the right one now. Lets just say that a certain auction site appears to be full of somewhat dodgy looking adverts.

thats what i thought, body warrenty is tied to the country you buy it from, its just the lenses that come with international warrenty i think

Yup, which is why Kerso doesn't do body imports!

The lady infront of me in the queue was buying three 5D's and a bunch of compact digi's ~ all full retail price

Her husband had apparently already "broken two of them [5D's]". I was just stood there, gormless :s
