Hi

My old OCUK build is coming up to 4 years old, still going fine but would like to get an idea on price to upgrade it.

Current case is a lian li rog 011 which i would like to keep,

Storage m.2 and hdd to keep,

But everything else to go.

Extra fan for exhaust, and more storage.

this systems spec would be what i'd look in to but with ddr5 mem/ mobo non wifi, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk...rtx-4070ti-powered-by-asus-gam-fs-1gd-og.html

so how much to ship the pc to you ?
How much to upgrade / replace ?

and approx turn around time ?

alternatively

Shipping out the mobo/cpu / ram/ cooler / gpu pre assembled and i get it fitted myself.

thanks in advance

For the build questions, you'd be best off asking customer service, we're just randoms on here.

If I try to answer:

I think shipping is around £10 on pre-built systems, but if you add one to the cart, it will tell you.

Shipping on custom parts: it depends on the parts. Sometimes they have free shipping, especially on monitors and I think it applies that discount to your whole basket.

Shipping out the mobo/cpu / ram/ cooler / gpu pre assembled and i get it fitted myself.
I'm not sure if OCUK do this, since the only bundles I'm aware of are the 8Pack branded ones:

i assume your pc is out of warranty, but it might be worth asking anyway:

how does the upgrade service work?

if you want to upgrade your system during the warranty period, our engineers will do the installation free of charge. you will only be charged for the components and the shipping. contact us to discuss your requirements.

and approx turn around time ?
on their website it says:

pc christmas delivery

the christmas cut-off for built to order systems was monday 27th november. if you require a pc in time for christmas, please check out our range of pre-built refract gaming pcs.

but would like to get an idea on price to upgrade it.

I assume you wanted Asus branded parts (to match your case) and are willing to pay a premium for this?

I don't know what size cooler you'd prefer, a 13600K can be cooled by a £35 peerless assassin, but for aesthetics I assumed an AIO is preferable.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £2,037.83 (includes delivery: £7.99)

If you can wait until late January, nvidia will release SUPER versions of the 4070/4080 cards:

looked at the pc you like and saw itr was a tuf setup rather than strix, so did an am5 7800x3d build around that...just as a different build..still asus..put corsair ram in as no works well with asus..theres some 6000c30 teamgroup delta rgb for £110 which is slightly cheaper

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...iquid-cooler-with-oled-display-hs-055-as.html out of stock but can be had for £235 elsewhere if look..with oled panel over the pump

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,752.89 (includes delivery: £7.99)
with the aio £1987.89..save £25 by going teamgroup delta rgb 6000c30..can also get the RM850X shift for £130, saving another £30 as you're not extactly going to see the psu in the O11 anyway
If it's a gaming rig, I'd go am5..if doing productivity, and you don't plan on upgrading for another 4 years or so, 13700k or 14700k
if you got 011 and 6 fans pulling air in (bottom and side) and aio on top exhausting, you don't need an exhaust fan at back..they'll be so much positive pressure, it's not needed

£165 (incl. VAT)
£156 (incl. VAT)
£150 (incl. VAT)
£125 (incl. VAT)
£130 (incl. VAT)
£90 (incl. VAT)
ty guys ! i'll bare this in mind :)

i'm look for mostly gaming focused to keep up to date for any big game coming out things similar to darktide, vr ( index ) and to stream to twitch.

i also dabble in creative things like video editing.

my current pc only has the fans from the idcooling aio in it, and it seems fine after some time hovers around the high 40's.

Another idea i have is a mini / micro build that would fit in to a tower 300 ( when available here ) from thermal take.

https://uk.thermaltake.com/the-tower-300-micro-tower-chassis.html

Following similar spec level from previous idea's and suggestions !

Prettymuch the same as before for the AMD build but using the super cards now also. I just swapped the atx mobo for the mATX mobo (its same one in photo on the thermaltake pic on the link...this one doesn't have wifi. The wifi version is £213.99 so additional £40...will put in below also. Depends if you want it integrated or get a usb wifi dongle. Theasus 4070ti is up by £30. As you're not going for an asus case anymore I put the zotac trinity in there also which is £60 cheaper. Also, as you can't see the psu at all, swapped the asus one out for the msi one below as that's cheaper, but still with 10year warranty etc
regarding cooling, didn't know if you wanted to stick with asus or not...the case can take a rad up to 420mm, so a 360mm down the side would look good, as in the website pics. not sure I'd want to put an aircooler in there. lump would spoil the looks completely imo. I put in the 360 lian li trinity aio below as has the infinity fans on as standard, you can change the pumhead face and also the fans have the side infinity mirrors, so you'll see a bit more as it's mainly side view and you wont see much else in fans..not sure if that bottom fan in pic comes with case so added a reverse flow infinity 140mm to put on the bottomas assuming it's set up as drawing air in from below. top fans are hidden by look and come with case
For storage did a 1tb ln790 for the os...it'll mainly be reading after you instal, and so it's fast for that. the sn850x is on offer at mo so added the 2tb version as a 2nd ssd for your game storage...you could just drop the 1tb and just run with the sn850x as a 2tb primary only...just giving ideas

so below has both mobo's in there, and both gpu's so really it's £1k less when you take those out

Here's another alternative, which if I was doing myself I'd probably go this route atm, as prices are similar
The most expensive part of a pc is the gpu and cpu, gpu be by for the most expensive, and the gpu will have the most impact on your fps. So for this instance with the 4080super out, that's a big jump in performance over the 4070ti/super (Hardware unboxed has 12 game av 1440p 145fps vs 124fps for the 4070ti super(so 17% gain), 4k was 85 vs 70 (14% gain)..in raytracing 101 v86 in 1440 (so 17.4% gain)
Now no doubt the 7800x3d will maximise the framerate of your gpu, but if you like playing 1st person or non competetive online with all the eye candy, the the gpu will be the bottle neck, and so I maxed the gpu, and downgraded the cpu. The cpu performance is just above that of the 5800x3d am4 cpu, which was the best gaming cpu for that platform, so it's not a slouch, and saves £160, which is close enough the difference of jumping from the 4070ti super to the 4080super

just tried to look, and techspot actually do the same comparison using a 4070 with a 7800x3d vs a 4070ti vs 7600 and the 4070ti came out on top in most games(therer are some games that favour cpu performance), but overall the gpu wins. You might leave a little performance on the table but the new 9000 series cpu's come out this year also, and they're meant to be up to 20 to 30% faster in single thread performance i think, which is still the most important fact for gaming, so I reckon the new cpu's will probably blow the 7000 series out the water, just as the 7600x was up there with the best of the 5000 series cpu's(5800x3d), and the 5600x beat the 3000 series cpu's in gaming etc

It's a lot cheaper to put in a new cpu in a year or so to max the 4080super performance by using a 7600x now(as you're getting a cooler anyway and using a powerful gpu, going with the x as this has slightly better performance than non x and similar price) then using a 7800x3d now with a lesser gpu, which you can't improve upon unless dropping a lot more money

update -

I'm between cases now, the lian li sup01 or the tower 300 with horizontal stand, ( not available here).

tied with the msi project zero mobo , 7800x3d and a 4070ti super.

ram probs 32gb,

thoughts ?

Could you restate exactly the parts you need, your budget, usage, etc? We can do a second spec.

tied with the msi project zero mobo , 7800x3d and a 4070ti super.

ram probs 32gb,

thoughts ?
They're fine, if your case can support rear mounted cables. The Project Zero board would have to be the micro-atx version for the tower 300, but I assume you know that.

tower 300 isn't project zero compatible as far as am aware. last yt i saw had guy cutting part of the metal back panel for access to the sockets..the lian li sup01 is though I'm trying to remember if the tower was being updated at computex to allow btf or project zero
will be a nice build no matter what, 7800x3d/4070tisuper/def 32gb ram. I still think the 4080super is a better card as the price of the tisuper is too high..the standard 4070super is just too close in performance to warrant the £200 extr..for that might as well go all the way and go 4080s
edit..think the sup a bit dull to look at though. i prefer the tower case,,just stick a normal b650m in such as the mortar(if you like msi) or the b650m tuf gaming wifi (which is generally the one you see when they advertise the case), though really a preference thing

seems like it is possible but fiddley ?

Mostly just looking for feed back from builders / staff to tell me it will all fit and work lol ( it used to be a thing on here not sure where that option is and assuming you guys are not staff )

i'm coming off a mostly aorus build from this site in a lian li rog 011, imo the best version of the case, ( only cpu cooler wasn't aorus) and it's doing me well but showing scan lines every so often on windows log in.

So while i be keeping that case i'd like to try out a smaller one and the sup is more intriguing in both the size and design, but the tower 300 does look nice when horizontal :)

other parts i've thought about - samsung mid range m2 at 1tb and probs a mid range reliable ssd 4tb and hope fully have my current 3'5 4tb hdd installed by some one else / they don't mind supervising me do it :D

cooler wise aio 240 with screen not to expensive but reliable rgb optional.
psu gold cert 80 750w/ 800w

i did watch jays 2 cents vid on the sup01 build was funny :D though i usually watch bitwit.
