Hey guys,

I am looking for a new GPU, but can we expect a pricedrop on the Nvidia cards, because of the new AMD's that are coming?

If not, would it be a wise decision to buy a GTX560 Ti HAWK (230 Euro) or wait for Nvidia's Kepler? My budget is not more then 250 Euro. It kinda sucks to have a very decent gaming rig, but with a GTX275 in it. That is like a burger without the meat :P

My system specs:
Intel Core i5 2500K
8 GB RAM Kingston HyperX
Nvidia GTX275:o

Thanks!

There is signs of some mid range cards dropping in cost all the time but I think it will pateau and max reductions will be around 10%~ but thats 20-25 euros, also kepler is a long way off think q3 at earliest and with no data available then id personally just buy now and save up you can always sell the 560ti closer to that date and put it towards the cost of the new kepler cards.

Then there is the issue of it being chinese new year soon so productivity is gonna fall for most if not all cards which will stabilise pricing but hold it high, if your not in a rush id wait it out till mid february, then make a decision with the information available then heck by then the 7950 may be out and you might wanna switch to ati who knows :-)

When I built my first PC I wanted a TNT2 Ultra(!). I ended up waiting so long that when it finally showed I was faced with the same dilemma - get theTNT2 or wait for the NEXT gen of cards.

Moral of the story? Just get what you want just now there is ALWAYS something "better" just about to be released!

(this is less so at the very top end but prices tumble up there!)

The rpices tend to drop around a month to afew weeks before new hardware comes out, if atall (before new release).

Just get what you can for your budget. That card will go well in your system.
