Hey all, I planned to buy the Ultimate Gaming Spec PC, the really pricey one, but as someone said I can do better than that for the money, then I figured i'd ask here for some specs, my money limit is pretty much unlimited currently, as I have my heart set on a great PC, I was gonna wait for the new Nvidia cards, but I figured I can just upgrade to them if the performance gain is really worth it, i'm looking for the best possible spec for games, whatever will get me that extra fps or two is all worth it haha, Many Thanks to whoever can help :D

Well of course within reason, I want a great spec but i'm not gonna go for a SSD just for the sake of it, specs made with a cool head then, does that sound better? or if you want a budget then lets say 2k currently, and when I was going for the best specs someone said I can have better for the money, so then i'm asking for that :p

okay, so do you just want the box? or any speakers/keyboard/mice or monitor? Do you need an OS?

Also I'd wait for the Ati HD 3870X2 if I were you.

how's this to start with....

wait a month for the new 790i board and then get sli and ddr3 :)

Maybe and penryn aswell, but tbh, he wouldn't see a difference in performance because modern games are gpu limited, so the DDR3 RAM and penryn cpu wouldn't help a lot. Xfire scales better than SLi too, plus it's cheaper, and x38 boards are better for oc'ing than the nvidia ones.

Ahhh sorry, it's late and I totally spaced out on mentioning I dont need an OS, Keyboard Mouse or Monitor, as i'll be buying the Samsung SM-226BW anyway most likely :) and thanks for the info, i'll bare that all in mind, but wouldnt a GTX be better? and yeh I may wait, if the difference is really worth it that is, but i'm not sure anyone really knows that at the moment, would the new ATi card really be that big of a power boost? any help is appreciated :D

well the new card is supposed to be better than the Current 8800Ultra.

and the 2 cards I speced in crossfire would be better in most things, unless the game didn't properly support crossfire, in which case a GTX would be better. I'd wait for the new ATi card if I were you though. Plus if your getting an Intel board you can add another one when you need it. If it was an nvidia card you couldnt as intel chipsets don't allow SLI.

and have you considered the OCUK 24"? it's about £250 and has a PVA panel rather than a TN, it's highly rated.
