Pricing error on the Legion 5?

Really tempted by this, seems miles cheaper than the competition.

Any reason not to?

Yes, the pro version with the amazing screen that's about the same price or less with the discount code from Lenovo. I'm torn though i can tell you cos who knows when the pro will be available. I'm debating replacing my Xbox series x with one of these and hooking it up to my TV for gaming however one of the nice things about the xsx is that it's practically silent whereas I'm guessing this will sound like a jet engine when gaming. Also not convinced just how much of an improvement this would be graphically, the xsx seems perfectly capable of 4k/60 , not sure about a 130W 3070. It's a tough one but my heart says wait for the pro however long that might be...

I went for the Legion 5 standard and it's a cracking bit of kit. I appreciate the Pro has a better screen but for me I prefer 21:9 so was not sold on the 16:10 screen. The pro is the better buy if you can get it for £1300.

Yeah, big if though...
I might just pick up the standard one , will mostly be using it on my TV anyway I suspect so the screen isn't top priority

I just bought the Legion 5 standard, R7 5800H RTX3070 for my nephew (I put £430 towards it as a going to college /Bday present). Beats spending £870 he had getting lower end i5s maybe rtx 2060 laptops, they would have sufficed but I spoiled him a little, whats fanily for! Lol.

I think for his uses as a gaming machine (instead of PS5 they couldnt get) and college use its more than ample. The pro would have been nice but as said, its getting the thing... so just opt'd for what we could get.

Any way, cracking laptop as you'd expect for the price. Should see him through college and uni! Got rid of McAfee though lol.

I have the Legion 5 with the 5800h/3060 and upgraded screen/battery/keyboard and it really is fantastic.

I have since ordered the 5 Pro as I could do with a bit of extra vertical screen space for work. Virtually the same spec.

The screen I have is a really nice so it's not like you end up with a rubbish one. Performance wise, there's nothing in it so it really comes down to the screen. I've upgraded my RAM and I'm getting about 10% more FPS.

The screen is the only hasitation I have, do you find it plenty sharp enough?
The gpu seems to be almost the exact speed of my old desktop 1080ti so I'm fine with that as I won't be trying to drive 4k anymore.

Also is it g-sync? What's the range?

I find it sharp enough for my usage. It's G-Sync @ 165Hz, really nice to game on. Not sure on range. One of my desktops has a 5600X + 1080Ti and this laptop is faster in games which is impressive.

Mine will be on its way back to OcUK tomorrow :(

It had bad DPC latency issues when using the wifi, audio crackling, mouse pointer pausing for a split second mid movement whenever the wifi was under load (i.e. playing a 4k/60 video, or downloading a game off steam). Latencymon showed tcpip.sys causing the issues, but only when using the wifi. It was ok on wired lan.

Tried new bios, drivers, numerous resets. Nothing fixed it, so it's having to go back.
