Pricing to sell privately

The £3k ones I'm looking at are 55 plates so assumed the same shape as yours.

In reality, there is never going to be a shortage of Polo's in the used car market and the longer you leave it, the less valuable it will be ...

This is the previous shape: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif.../postcode/le55nr/page/1/radius/1501?logcode=p

The issue is that so many of the one's on Autotrader look superb in the adverts and then when you go to see them they have ripped seats, scratches etc. My sister has just bought an 03 Polo and we looked for months before finding one that matched upto the description in the advert.

The Parkers pricing suggests:

Franchise dealer - £4,143
Indy - £3,863
Private Good - £3,513

Then i would say price it for privates at about £3900, and accepting at the very least say £3500 or £3600 if it is a bit special.

Obviously selling it private , you will get chancers who will try and knock you down. So set a minimum you are willing to let it go for and stick to it.

I think around the £4k mark seems sensible?

It also has two years of servicing and one MOT included at VW dealers, though I'm not sure how much that would add to the value.

Edit - I meant another two years of 'free' servicing and a free MOT.

You price it to a round £4K , doesnt really make much difference.

MOT deffo adds a tiny bit , and also people will look at car that has loads of MOT left , than a car which has only say none or 1 or 2 months left.

Fully populated service from VW and stamped is good enough , fresh tyres or tryes will plenty of tread on them is a good sign.

It's got 11 months tax and MOT.

Tyres are 6 month old Conti EcoContacts all round.

It's not been scrimped on at all, though I doubt my dad will see back the money spent on VW servicing etc.

Closer to the £4K mark then ... hopefully it isnt in some colour that is hard to shift as well. Off colours are harder to shift.

You got pics of the motor ?
